Research internship · RISA-ADHD study

Research Internship (Master's Thesis)

We are looking for a motivated Master's student in Psychology, or a related field, to join the RISA-ADHD study as a research intern and complete their thesis with us. RISA-ADHD is a prospective study evaluating a machine-learning model for detecting alcohol drinking events in adults with ADHD, using smartphone-based self-monitoring, ecological momentary assessment and passively collected smartphone data. Around 150 adults with ADHD and hazardous alcohol use are followed over a three-month monitoring period, combining questionnaires, daily app-based monitoring and blood-based (PEth) sampling.

Hybrid, with onsite hours around data collection

In line with Amsterdam UMC internship guidelines

What we are looking for

  • A Master's student in Psychology, or a closely related field, who needs to conduct a thesis research project.
  • Genuine interest in ADHD, addiction, and/or digital health monitoring.
  • Affinity with quantitative data analysis (R or similar); statistics coursework is a plus.
  • Accurate, rigorous, independent, and comfortable working with people in a clinical research setting.
  • Fluent in Dutch, both spoken and written.
